WICHITA FALLS, TX (TNN) – If you read Daniel Hernandez’s Facebook messenger, you would see that most messages come from struggling students across Texoma. Hernandez is the owner of Night Shift Computers, and he said not too long ago, he helped a mother of four who told her kids would use her phone to do their homework. “She said it was difficult,” said Hernandez. “Some of them would be impatient and the older ones would have to stay up late to get it done.” His Facebook messenger app is full on days when he posts pictures of the desktop or laptop he is giving away.
“I knew there was a need, but I didn’t realize how big the need was until we started getting messages in our inbox,” said Hernandez. During the day, Hernandez repairs computers he plans to donate to students, at night, he repairs computers for his business. “I just think that if our students are educated or have the tools to be educated, then that makes our community stronger,” said Hernandez. He said he couldn’t do this act of kindness without the community’s help. The computers he repairs to give to students were first donated to him.
“We get a lot of donations like towers from banks that upgrade their systems,” said Hernandez. Right now, Hernandez needs monitors, keyboards, mice, and laptops. If you would like to donate any of these items, you’re asked to contact Hernandez through Facebook. If you’re a struggling student needing a computer, you can also message him on Facebook.
